IE 6 Update Problem
Ran into an interesting one. I installed IE6 with no problems. Works fine. But when I try to install the IE security update dated Dec. 13, 2001 I get a message that the update requires IE6 be installed on the computer. I've checked for the version and even used the Belarc scan and it all shows IE6. Suggestions?

Try the repair tool for IE. Although installed and working could of a bad file:
START | SETTINGS | ADD/REMOVE Program
Find Internet Explorer + Tools
Double click and select REPAIR

Are you using the Windows Update?
I didn't see a Dec 01 update. I run IE6 (Use Netscape though) and have all the updates, just checked didn't see it?????

FYI I hunted around on the net and while I did not find a solution yet I did find this problem is occuring quite a bit, even on systems running XP, and IE6 IS the default browser. Apparently the XP users are being told their system does NOT have IE6 installed. I have searched the MS website but that is about the most worthless site there is as far as searching for something. I'll keep hunting!
