What a week...
So I have a friend that fancies himself skilled with computers. I had a trojan before, thought my security was good. Well, within one week this Master of the Computer Arts has me literally on my knees.
I am very thankful on this wonderful day, that it was him.
My problem is my floppy is bad, and the one on the machine is intermittent, it's a lobg story, but if that is the cost of this lesson that so be it.
I need to know, using small words and speaking slowly lease, how to FTP over to that machine. I'm on LAN behind a router and I even know the address... *phew*
I even know it goes like ftp://ftp.24.234.xxx.xx - I tried that and it didn't work. And I also need to know what else to do when I get there.
There is nothing major wrong, I have a few hours work to clean up the mess, but could somebody help me get back inside? It should boot fine, but I have no files there, and I think I'll have to FTP a boot disk over the LAN.
Thanks, and Happy Thanksgiving,
Cyndy

Hi, if you just need a boot disk you can get one (or many) here..
http://www.bootdisk.de/
I think that's what you said?? https://discussions.virtualdr.com/

If I understand this, you cannot use either floppy drive dependably, and you wish to send something to that IP address? If so You need an FTP program. The only freeware FTP app that I know doesn't contain spyware is called 'IguanaFTP' You might try that.
However, this smells of a boot-sector virus, I'll let the relevant experts handle that, if so.
