it sounds like a resource confict with your nic and some other critical device,
you could try boot logging the system and see where it stops,
or you could try to move the nic one slot down on the motherboard, that may allow the device in conflict to have it's resources assigned earlier than the nic.
there could be multiple solutions to this problem. more info would help.

don't know if it will help or not, but i've fixed conflict problems using this method before.
