Go back opinions

I'm looking to add some safety for machines at work. I have a dept with 8 stations, mixed NT4 SP5 and 98. Netware 5.1 and AS-400 Client Access.

My problem is they are almost all set up differently, some with specialized scanning software, print capabilities, drive access mapping, etc.

I lost a drive the other day and had to rebuild that machine from scratch, really time consuming. I've had other standard problems too like anyone in this position, human error, bad programs, anything and everything.

What I'd like to know, has anyone used Go Back in this type enviroment and what your opinion is of the feasibility and/or results.

I can get a 10 user licence from Roxio for $371.00. Not bad $$. What do you think??

First, haven't used it, but, sounds good:

As a CNE, I would never Ghost or GoBack on the same drive without having some extraneous
backup devices, client to server, client to cdrw, client to tape(yuk), client to second disk (possibly mirrored), raid, etc.
It's an easy fix to easy problems, but catostophic disk failures have to be taken into account to protect valuable data.
But that's just my opinion and I'm usually wrong. Good luck.

Thanks Nick, I agree with all you say. I have client to tape, etc., but there are problems with all and catastrophe's do happen.

Come on folks, I've see more references to "Go Back" here than I can count but I've never used it or even seen it. I need some opinions before I spend the money.

I have only been into computers for about 2 years and definately consider myself still a newbie. This is my first computer and has been quite a learning experience. GoBack is one of the bundled programs installed by the OEM. GoBack has saved my Bacon numerous times. A "way back when," I received the KAK worm virus. Just as advertised, GoBack just like a time machine reverted my hard drive to before I was infected. After that experience, I thouroughly investigated just what I could do with it. I will not be without GoBack. I screw up, hit the wrong key, wrong button, get a corrupt download or program installation, I don't have to worry about hunting through everything and everywhere to correct it. I just use GoBack. It has its limitations as to how far back you can go with it but it has not failed me yet. One machine or ten machines, I will have it installed on them all. Simple, easy, quick
