Opera crashing
What ho one and all,
On my W7 desktop, I have a ESR version of Firefox that although old(ish), is the last version that can be run with W7. It works fine. But as there are some site that cause a problem, I installed Opera and have to admit, that I do like the built-in VPN.
Yesterday, opera was working just fine; today, within ten seconds of the home screen appearing, it crashes, closes down and recovers, only to continue repeating the cycle until I Cnt/Alt/Del to kill the operation.
I have rebooted the computer but the same is happening. I am happy to uninstall and reinstall, but I don't have a back-up of the bookmarks and having difficulty finding the folder.
Do you have experience of Opera crashing every time and if so, how did you resolve it?
Thanks

I'd reinstall Opera. It should save bookmarks and passwords by default unless you tell it not to during a reinstall. But to be safe back them up first.
Manual Export for Opera browser (Bookmarks & Passwords)
For Bookmarks (HTML file):
Open Opera and type opera://bookmarks in the address bar and press Enter.
In the bottom-left corner, click the drop-down menu and select Export bookmarks.
Save the generated HTML file to a safe location
For Passwords (CSV file):
Go to opera://settings/passwords in your address bar.
Click the three vertical dots (kebab menu) next to "Saved Passwords".
Select Export passwords and save the CSV file.
Enter your computer password if prompted.
And if you google back up opera bookmarks and passwords You'll see videos that show how as well. Also videos on how to import them from Firefox.

Thank for your thoughts. Was unable to save anything as it crashed every time before I could click anything.
But did manually save the bookmarks from the appdata folder and uninstalled followed by a reinstall and all is now back to more or less normal.
Copied the saved bookmarks backup and everything is fine (again.)
