I select the contact, the keyboard appears, I start to type and the keyboard disappears. If I select a different contact, everything is fine I'm able to type a msg.
The phone is a Samsung A11.

If your WhatsApp keyboard disappears, it could be due to various reasons such as software glitches, keyboard version issues, or app updates. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and fix the problem:
- Restart your device: This can resolve minor glitches and bugs that may be causing the keyboard to disappear.
- Update WhatsApp: Ensure you are using the latest version of WhatsApp, as updates often fix bugs and improve performance.
- Install a different keyboard: If the default keyboard is not functioning properly, consider installing another keyboard app to see if it resolves the issue.
- Reinstall WhatsApp: If the keyboard problem persists, uninstalling and reinstalling the app can often fix the issue.
- Check for app updates: Sometimes, the keyboard issue is related to the app itself. Make sure WhatsApp is updated to the latest version. If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to seek further assistance from WhatsApp support or the app's community forums.
Also try deleting that one contact and re-entering it.

To delete a WhatsApp contact, you need to remove them from your phone's contact list. This action will also remove them from WhatsApp, as it syncs with your phone's contacts.
Thanks, will try everything. And thabks for mentioning the potential loss of the contact.
In case this helps, I get a notification from the sender but the message never appears.
You could also try clearing the cache because sometimes those files can cause crashes like this.
