From HD to SSD ?

My main PC that I purchased a couple years ago +- has a 2TB HD. I want to install a 500gb SSD drive. The question is: how to install
the windows 10 that's on the original to the new SSD? The older I get, the fuzzier I get on some of these situations. I do have a Windows 10 CD that I purchased for a PC a number of years ago. I suppose perhaps that would be one way. However, I would prefer to use the Windows 10 in the current PC. If this is possible, a step by step would certainly appreciated. Thanks much.........
