A while back I posted an article regarding the problem of installing Photo Shop7 on my wife's PC. I did manage to get the installation ok. However, she is plagued with this problem: If she clicks on a photo to work on, the usual message "open with" displays all except PS7. The only way she can access PS7, is to go where the program is installed & click on the PS7 icon. Is there any kind of work around for this ? Thanks much ...................
I have a feeling you already know that PS7 is on the old side.

Did you try changing the "Compatibility" setting in the shortcut to PS7?
I couldn't get PS7 to even install on Windows 7. I gave up and bought Photoshop Elements. Same basic program but better than PS7.
When you installed it, did you use install as Administrator? If so, then try Steve's suggestion and run it in compatibility mode. You'll actually need to find PS7's original, not the short cut, and right click chose properties, compatibility tab, run as Windows XP.

Photoshop Elements 14 only cost $59 at Amazon, B&H photo. Or at Adobe's website too. It's amazingly much like Photoshop and pretty much does everything Photoshop does. Layering, masking, all the regular things too. It just doesn't cost as much, which I like very much. ;)
Jacs PS 7 works fine in XP SP3 Compatibility mode in Win 7 and 10 for me.
Open with, browse to PS7 and be sure to put the check in.

By golly, I finally got PS7 to list in the "Open with"FILE. I just had to string the existing apps to where it said : "more apps" so I searched the C drive where the program was located, clicked on the PS7 icon & viola, it placed the app in the "open with" file. Of course that worked on my PC, not sure if it will do the same on the wife's pc. Her win10 seems operate differently than mine. She has a store bought all-in-one which came with it. Mine was a free install on an old tower. A real teaser for sure..................
