I have win10 on a couple PC's . All do well except one. It either refuses to wake up after a brief period of time or it powers the PC off completely. I have exhausted all the tips I find on the web. Anything I might have missed ??

You might want to give us specs on which computer this is. Name brand name/model number or motherboard name and model number. We usually can't help without this information.
HDD is shutting down. Is my bet.
Are you using Sleep or hibernation.
I had the Hibernation set to never. But that didn't help. I did however, changed the power plan from balanced to power saver & so far that seemed to work. Won't know for sure till 24hrs have passed. One other thing that is bugging me at the present is : I had changed the password to a pin # which is neat. However, I have to enter it every time it awakens, even tho I had set the process to "never"
I got use to the password bit because my lan. And grandkids can not use my computers that way.
Regarding the PIN wake issue, the following link may be useful:

Thank you jdc; that website gave me just what I needed to resolve the Pin Wake issue. On the power off issue, the jury is still out ........
Regarding the power off problem; during the day, the pc seems to go ok, goes to sleep after 15 minutes, awakes at mouse stroke. However, over night, it goes into a hibernation mode & will not wake up. The cpu fan is still running, so the machine is not off completely. I have to power it off with pwr switch, then on. Then all is ok then. The pc is powered by an Intel MB:
Windows 10 64-bit
InTel (R) core (TM) 2Quad CPU Q550 @2.83ghz.
4.0gb ram
Intel G45/G43 Express Chip set.
1- 500gb HD - C drive
1- 500gb HD - D & E drive
1- 500gb HD - F drive
Standard Mid Tower chasis
Giving it a checkout. Thanks Train...........
Thanks Train; the info from that website did the trick. I'll never understand why win10 works flawlessly in one pc & buggy in another. In one pc where I had set up a dual boot system 10/7, it works flawlessly. Doesn't even bug me about PW's....................
HDD shutting down can be a pain alright. Learned clear back in 98.
I spoke too soon. It work ok for a day or two, then began to screw up again. What seems to happen now is that during the day when I access it a couple times or so during the day, it behaves ok. But when I get up the next morning [I leave 'em on 24/7] and go to open to my desktop, nothing happens. The pc is running, the cdrom drives work, but the mouse & keyboard fails to wake the monitor. Needless to say, I have to pwr down & start over. I'm about ready to pull the drive & put back in my wn7. GRRRRrrrrrrrrr!!
Do you have wake on KB / mouse enabled in the BIOS?
I have my PC HP laptop set for PIN for a reboot . .but from sleep wake I never have to use any use of a password .. It took me forever to figure out that path for this PC to do so .. but can't remember exactly what I did .. combination of powersetup and other boxes to check ..
