What ho one and all,
I currently use a USB desktop caddy for backing up my images to two 1tb hdd. They are becoming somewhat full and I want to replace them with larger drives.
My computer is running well, but is not up to the latest specs; it is a Dell 9200, only has SATA2 ports, etc. etc. The current hdd are WD Caviar Green 1 tb; 32 mb cache, and I would like to use the same in 2TB or larger.
Searching the web, I find that Caviar Green don't seem to be available any longer, (unless I want to risk eBay) and all new hdd are SATA3 with 64mb cache. If I buy SATA3 with 64mb. am I likely to encounter any problems. Obviously, the drives will only run at the max speed of the worst component, so I do not expect them to be lightening fast, just operate for backing up images.
Toodle pip and thanks
Rex
