What ho one and all,
Just read about an interesting program in MicroMart, called Wipe, and thought I would give it a bash. Taken an image of my OS last week and did a SysRestore before installing, so not concerned.
Run wipe and it currently tells me that there are 1,736,648,777 bytes of junk that can be removed! But of greater concern is that the program apparently is finding 196 installed programs, which include (and this is not an exhaustive list) Alexa Toolbar,Ask Toolbar, AVG Safeguard TB, AdFender, Adobe Reader, Chrome 27 - 44, Comodo Dragon 31 - 43, Firefox 21 - 40, Opera 12 - 31, Torch 29 - 42, Windows Vista, 7, 8, 10, Yahoo Toolbar, Yahoo Messanger, Yandex Browser 1 - 15.6, etc.
Now i have never installed (knowingly) any of these, and I cannot find them in the Programs folder or anywhere else. I have run Agent Ransack and still zilch; likewise with the reg. So where is Wipe getting this information from?
FYI, I'm running XP Pro.
Thanks
Rex
