[RESOLVED] Video Stops Working On One Program Only

One of my programs (wavelab 4) starts to run and the video stops and then the sound stops. Then I get a blue screen that says:

"A problem has been detected and windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer. The problem seems to be caused by the following file: ati2dvag If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
The device driver got stuck in an infinite loop This usually indicates problems with the device itself or with the device driver programming the hardware incorrectly. Please check with your hardware device vendor for any driver updates.

The screen does appear again. I have checked for updates for the video card and there are none. I removed the video card and driver and reinstalled it with the same results. Like I said it only doesn't work with the program wavelab 4. I use a USB device called Saffire 6 to run keyboards and sound. It used to work just fine until I had a crash and had to reload everything. Any help would be appreciated!

Go to Windows Update and install the latest Mircosoft .NET Framework package.

If the problem persists, try the following:

Right click and select Properties
In the newly opened window, click the Settings tab and choose Advanced
Select SMARTGART and set the fast write option to "Off"
Click OK to confirm and restart Windows.

Thanks for responding! I went to microsoft.NET framework and downloaded and ran framework 4.5.1. I had warnings from AVG that this cold be a problem but I ran it anyway. After installing it said thank you for using framework 4 so I don't know if I have 4.5.1. So I ran WaveLab 4 and the same problem was there. You then told me to right click and select properties but I don't know what file or screen you want me to right click on.

Just found out, so i will ask, did you lately update the video drivers?
If yes, then roll back to the next older drivers. To new of drivers can and do cause hair pulling.

When I go to "roll back drivers" it says "no drivers have been backed up for this device". I did try updating the driver before but it said I had the best driver already.

It is a Dell optiplex 320.

That is the info I used when looking up video drivers on the Dell site.

Integrated ATI Radeon X300 graphics

Those drivers you are using maybe to new.

These vista should do the trick.

I am not having success uninstalling the current display adapter driver. I go to my computer>view system information>hardware>device manager>display adapter>ati radeon 3600>uninstall. It asks me to restart the computer and it loads the 8.821.0.0 driver back in again. If I say not to restart the computer the same driver is still there. What am I not doing?
