ms office 2010
i'm will be buying office 2010 for six pc's here at work. we're upgrading from (*gasp*) office 97. there has been no reason previous to this to do any upgrading but we're now moving to windows 7 which i know does not play well with 97. on the other side, i'm shying away from office 2013 due to all the negativity i see when i google it.
1) i'm not finding many sources for the dvd version of 2010 but am finding a number of sources for the download / activation process. has this been smooth for any of you?
2) i'm finding a very large spread of prices for the dl version. i'm looking at a google page with prices ranging from $145 to $399 for a single user. except for newegg (at the $399 price), none of these vendors are familiar to me.
any advice?
thanks in advance

I've been using 2010 for a couple years and have installed it about a dozen times and really like it. I've been doing the download and it works well.
I've been paying $179.99 from Best Buy when we purchase new computers.
Outlook has a weird new option. If you have more than 1 email account, it by defaults wants to create separate PST files and folders within Outlook. I don't that like and select to use the same PST files... My co-workers do like the new ooption.

thanks, steve.
it looks like we're going to go with 2013. best buy and the other mainstream retailers no longer sell 2010.
i have looked at the on-line vendors selling the dl/activate 2010 versions but the few that DO have phone numbers have non-working ones. not a good sign.
any advice on 2013 upfront?
thanks in advance.

Some activation info on Office 2013..

More important now than ever because of the way(s) they check licenses on an ongoing basis which also directly relates to your concern about buying 2010 from questionable sources.

thanks, fink & doc.
i went ahead and ordered the first two from bestbuy for $220 each. they have a store spitting distance from my home.
it's weird, their site only allows me to buy one at a time. does this mean i can only buy one in person then must exit the store and then re-enter to buy the second? lol.
