Windows refuses to install

Started when I got a Sandisk SSD 120gb, and it was awful. Crashes, some things wouldn't work etc. So I put windows 8 on another HD partition. Then I took out the SSD to send it back. When I connected everything again, NOTHING. I tried everything, nothing. Opened it up again, everything was connected, ok. I sighed and went to install Windows 8 again.
It refuses to. I formatted the partition where it was, and it still refuses. "check setup log" what ******* use is THAT ? I tried to install on one of my other HDD's - nothing - refuses everywhere. Where I put it is empty. Deleted it, and reinstalled, still nothing still refuses everywhere. Either it wasn't proper this or that (GPT or something) or it just plain won't.
What the hells going on ? Windows 7 wont install either
I have i5 2500 Asus P8 motherboard, 4 HDD's 8gb ram
This is done from my wife's macbook

Start with the bare bones minimum: Motherboard, CPU, RAM, PSU, Video, Keyboard, Mouse and Monitor. (No drives yet).

Flip it on and reset the BIOS to factory defaults.

Flip it off and connect one CD/DVD drive and one hard drive.

Flip it on and see if the HD is being detected in the BIOS.

* If not, there is a problem somewhere that must be resolved before attempting to go any further.

* If it is being detected, while you're there in the BIOS Setup make sure it's set to try and boot from the CD/DVD drive first.

Power down, insert a Windows 7 (or 8) CD/DVD and power back up. With any luck you should see the Windows installation routine starting up and eventually discovering your hard drive. Just follow along with the onscreen instructions from there.

Let us know what happens ...

It seems to see the drives OK, but just refuses to install to any of them
Im currently going to try getting on with a linux off a usb stick

Update: Well, couldn't get it to run from a stick (probably doing something wrong) but put Linux on a disc and it's running perfectly fine. Writing this on the very PC having "problems" installing Windows. Linux had no trouble installing, why is Windows 7 or 8 refusing to ?

Well no change as yet, but Linux only runs via the disk, tried to install Linux and it won't. But will run from disc, and the hard drives are accessible.
Ordered another hard drive (drastic, but was considering anyways) and I'll see how that goes

Right - as you said, disconnect the hard drives (which were showing up in the Linux disc) and put in a new Seagate 2tb - installed first time with no problem.
BUT
When I reconnected the other hard drives, NOTHING. They have just disappeared. Tried every combination. NOTHING
And I NEED what is on the other HDD's.

With all hard drives connected, are they all recognized on the CMOS/BIOS Setup?
