MS has definitely made some judgement errors. If Surface tablets were priced more reasonably (at least $100 less at each price point), if the desktop experience was not so heavily slanted toward the metro interface, I think it would have been much more acceptable and successful. And maybe it still could be if MS backs up a little and fixes things. Otherwise, Mr Vaugh-Nichols may end up being right.
In my case, I am one of the people Mr Vaugh-Nichols is referring to. We bought one Win 8 machine for a demo unit for our business. It will be the only one we'll buy. And I am replacing every PC in the place this year... with Win 7.
