Nvidia problem

Son has a pc he built 2 years ago for online gaming. High end Nvidia card. Model I will have to check. Recently he gets a pop up saying Nvidia card has stopped working, but has recovered.. Seems others have had this issue also... Have read so many responses to this on a few sites on suggestions.. just passing along here for your help... Thanks

Pull the card and clean the air passages. And clean the fan blades with someting like Q-tips and 90+% alcohol.
Overheating leads to that and may need to roll back to a version or 2 older drivers.

What has worked generally on client's computers.
