ALL-IN-ONE PRINTER QUESTION

I'm looking for an all-in one printer in the $150 - $200 range. I had been using an HP 5610 supplied by my company for about 6 years...still works.

I see many brands on Amazon, NewEgg, CostCo etc. I'd like to know if any company has the "edge" these days on printer quality. I'm looking for very good print quality. I will be printing resumes on "photo quality" which is very important! I've heard printer companies make their profits on ink refills so buying a quality printer isn't too hard.

I'm also do a lot of photography but always upload my normal images to CostCo nearby. Are there any all-in-one's that do excellent photo printing? I'm sure they would cost more. Down the road I "may" invest in a printer strictley for photo printing.

You listed three retail chains that have little to do with the "edge" of anything;)

I would bee line it straight to ConsumerReports.org (has a fee) and or Google and search out reviews.

The fact that you've had a good experience with HP is something else to factor in.

I picked out a Cannon many years ago because it's review was as good as the next one but was given many more points because it printed twice as fast as others in the same class.

Thanks for the info. Yes, this HP printer has held up. I'll most likely stick with HP if I can.

HP Printers are O.K,but you will pay the price with the ink cartridges.Most HP cartridges only have 5 ml of ink,and last very little.Then you have to come up with an average of $ 35.00 dollars for cartridge.
They will sell you a printer for almost nothing,but they will rip you of with the ink.
I have always preferred either Canon or Epson,they are very good,and ink cartridges are not that expensive,and also very easy to refill.

Thanks for the info! I've had 2 Espon work printers that worked well. The HP 5610 they gave us now does go thru color ink fast.

Costco also sells a Brother all-in-one in their store and others their website. Costco has an easy return policy if you don't like it.

I use Brother printers, one color and one B/W MFC, however, mine are laser units, not inkjet. They have worked well for me.
