Things don't look right
Hi I have XP Home SP3 with IE8
The problem is some graphics don't show up properly.
Example Google website, I have no Google word showing and the links at the top which should be in black background and say Images, Videos etc... are white with blue letters.
I tried the png fix but this didn't help.
Can anyone help me with this as it's very annoting trying to navigate without the proper graphics.
Thanks
Dave

Did you make any changes to the PC?
Does rebooting make any difference?
-
No rebooting doesn't fix it.
I haven't used the tower for awhile and didn't notice this last time I had it on.
I tried updating flash and java but that didn't help.

Did you try clearing the Temporary Internet Files? The links should be text, so image issues should not affect those. Have you changed and system appearance themes or fonts? Does everything else look OK? What happens if you try booting into Safe Mode with Networking? Do you get the same issue?
-
I did clear temp files. The links are text but don't look like they are supposed to, they are white background with blue lettering when it should be black background with white lettering. Also like I said if you go to Google.com, the big GOOGLE word on the screen isn't there, even though if I hold the mouse cursor over it the little hand shows up.
Didn't make any changes to fonts or used any themes. I haven't tried safe mode yet but will.
Thanks

In Internet Explorer, click: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced tab > Reset... button > Reset button. Close Internet Explorer, reload it and try Google again.
If that doesn't work, do the same except this time, select "Delete Personal Settings" right above that last Reset button.

Thank You for the advice I did try that but I didn't check the personal settings box I will try that tomorrow as the place the computer is at is closed now.
Thanks again.

Another place to check would be under Tools > Internet options > General tab > Accessibility. Uncheck everything.
