I am looking at the Lenovo ideapad A1 7" tablet. What I do not understand
is how this tablet can give GPS navigation offline. It says allows direct
satellite connection? For under $200 is this a decent tablet. How limited
is it's app market?

Offline GPS: You download the maps you need at home to the device, then all you need is the gps turned on while out and about.
Couple of reviews.

Lenovo Ideapad A1 GPS Test
Single-core CPU, 3MP pic quality is going to leave a bit to be desired, the tiny 7" screen is 3" smaller than your Lenovo IdeaPad's little 10.2" screen, Android 2.3 is getting a little long in the tooth and the Lenovo App Shop only has roughly 200 apps.
Though you can use the Android Market of course, as one of the reviews mentioned, they never even saw the need to start the Lenova App store.

I am not sure what you mean. You download the maps while you are online
at home then you can turn on GPS to guide you? Does the tablet have a
satillite connection? Can it be used like a regular GPS where you enter the
address and find it, or how is it different then a regular GPS?
Jerry
It has a standard GPS chip, so can find your location from the satellites then uses your downloaded maps to show your location.
Exact abilities will depend on the software, plenty on the market if the one included is poor.
Many offer standard GPS abilities ie fastest route from A to B, turn by turn directions, some would have voice capabilities etc etc
It has GPS navigation like a Garmin, Magellan or TomTom: http://www.newegg.com/Store/SubCateg...GPS-Navigation
And watch it using a GPS, last winter here in Washington and Oregon they found and saved everyone who were lead astray by one of those things. A bunch of lucky folks they were.
I have been trying to find the lowest price for the
Lenovo Ideapad A1 22282MU 7-Inch Tablet.
One site had it for $162 but would not accept an order.
Can someone direct me to a site with the best price.
Jerry
Go to Froogle.com and type in:
Lenovo Ideapad A1 22282MU
http://bit.ly/Kly9R1
I go to http://bit.ly/Kly9R1 and it brings up the Lenovo a=A1 for $161. I add
it to the shopping list but cannot find a checkout button. Once I order it
how do I check out?

You are a lot braver than I am Jerry. I wouldn't buy from a seller with no rating, and especially when the prices are noticeably lower than the well known sellers. The big sellers are usually pretty competitive, and if you find prices that are much lower, then you need to ask if it is too good to be true.
There are a lot of scam artists on the internet these days :( :(
Nick is absolutely right. Just like in the real world, there are many out there that will do most anything to get your money. Same on the 'net. They'll even go to all the trouble of setting up elaborate, (but fake), websites, advertise really low-low prices all in order to get you to visit their site and type in all your Credit Card info. They'll immediately debit your Credit Card and never send you a thing. A few days/weeks later that website is no longer there. They've packed up and moved their webpages into some other domain name.

I've never had a lick of trouble with Amazon.com
Amazon.com > Lenovo Ideapad A1 22282MU 7-Inch Tablet (Black) - $195.25
http://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Ideapad.../dp/B005UBT7LW
I totally agree about Amazon, we've never had a single issue with them, after buying shedloads of stuff from them over the last few years :)
And I missed that post where you said that you couldn't place an order. If you entered you card details in that site, cancel your card pronto
I did not enter any credit card. I just ordered from NEWEGG. and used Pay Pal
to pay. The price was $189 but no shipping or tax. They seem to be a
major supplier. Pay Pal will protect my purchase.
