My wife's iPad was hacked??

Actually, I think it may have been her email, but not really sure.

She said her friend sent her an email with a link and she clicked on it from her iPad. I suspect this is what caused the problem.

Her iPad / email is now sending out unwanted emails and it has sent them to me twice.

Suggestions? I plan to change her email password.
Can someone explain this hack/virus to me?

Not sure what virus this is, can't find anything with Google except a Facebook email that sounds similar (Koobface).
It suggests disconnecting from the Internet, doing a safe boot, and running an anti-virus program.
Normally I wouldn't have an issue performing any of those, but how do I do these with an iPad??

I did go in and reset her password from my PC, so her iPad won't connect to email now.

It's quite possible (probable) that it was the web based email acc't not the ipad that was hacked so changing the password may well have solved the problem.

She should be able to log into the email acc't now safely with the new password... which BTW should be at least 12 characters, upper and lower case including numbers and ideally some punctuation as well.

It may be someone else sending email that looks like it came from her iPad.
