the Bios on HP 8h 1110 2.0 does not indicate choice of AHCI and/or SATA raid.
no choice just AHCI?
that being the case the win XP PRO OS does not recognize the 2nd HD.
Or I should say does not recognize any drive in the computer.
Friend, has FS (Flight Simulator game) and in WIN 7 has problems with planes not loading properly. wants alternate WIN XP.
Has 2 HD each 500 Gb both recognized by WIN 7 Premium 64 bit. system that came with the computer.
You will need to install the SATA drivers during Windows XP Setup, before Windows can see the hard drive. You'll need to put the drivers on a floppy disk, then almost as soon as Setup starts, at the bottom you should see a message about installing SCSI drivers - press F6 at that point. Setup will then tell you when it wants the floppy, and after that it will see the drive and you can partition and format it.
Does that PC have a floppy drive?
If you don't have a USB floppy drive, you'd probably have to slipstream the drivers onto another XP disc with nlite.

Note that you are supposed to install the OLDER OS first when creating a dual boot.
Are you absolutely sure it's not RAID? It's not too common to have an OEM "gaming" system with 2 drives, so there is a good chance the drives are RAID0.
It would be much easier if you tried to find updates or patches for the game, rather than dual booting.

Friend has external USB 2.0 Floppy drive.
Where do I get the Drivers?
I did see a SP from HP (SP54427.exe 12.8 MB) which I downloaded and installed on his system. but after install it still did not recognize. Attached JPG will explain. 12.8 don't fit on 1.44 disk? This is only for win 7 versions. not applicable to WinXP
Which drivers are you suggesting... and from where?
MidNyte unfortunately when in bios "Snag It" wont work. but my cell phone will. When I get over there during the week... I will photo the BIOS. It only shows AHCI and there are no options. Maybe, since I installed the drivers from HP (would that touch the BIOS. I doubt it). Normally added drivers go into window System 32 folder.
Re Microsoft Flight Simulator X and Flight Simulator 2004. Microsoft does not support anymore. So left out. It all depends on the type of aircraft that you are trying to install and run. At present It is a hit and Miss, but the consensus is the game runs better in Win XP rather than Win 7.

The motherboard maker or PC maker will have the drivers. If you have the CD that came with it, that should have them on, otherwise you should be able to download them from their website.

How can I slipstream this via nLite
I have three (3) files to combine into one.
The OEM of WinXP pro SP2
SP3 in native from i.e. Windowsxp-kb936929-sp3-x86-enu.exe
HP SP 54427.exe
I have tried with diligence to use nLite, but after it finds the files for winxp pro
it will not show or let me get the additional files to make it complete for an ISO.
Is there a real Dummy site for me! Tutorial and see what I am doing wrong.

You need to extract the drivers FIRST. You can't slipstream the compressed drivers.Quote:

the sp54427.exe will not open with winzip, it says its not a zipped file etc...
command prompt -X opens it as an executable just like if I double clicked on it.
no extraction either way.

PS the KB file for SP3 did extract via -x command into folder SP3 and created I386 sub directory. so its good to go.
According to the HP website, SP54427.exe is the driver for Win7, not XP. If Intel doesn't have XP drivers, then you're out of luck. That's becoming more common now that XP is near end of life.
Next time, try 7zip instead of Winzip.

I know that sp54427.exe is win7.
so I went and dug further and found sp 50888.exe which is both win7/winxp
remember all I am trying to get is AHCI recognition for HD.
Also went to Intel re Express chipset and found a link but will have to research more.

well I found that 7z-zip works on unpacking spxxx files from HP.
I also kept nLite tutorial on screen to follow. sort of.
OK it asked for and got the winxp pro directory,
than I added the sp3 by choosing the INF file in the I386 folder.
than I aded the sp50888.exe by choosing the ibeAHCI file
and proceeded to making the ISO file
Burn it to DVD. it gives 14 files 900.3 MB
Did I do right? will this run and load
