Back up has failed
I'm using windows Vista.
recently, I tried to backup my HHD with Acronis TI 10. The backup failed because of corrupted files. I switched to Paragon : same problem.
I decided to run a sfc /scannow. The report said: the scan found some corrupted files but could not fix them.
Is there any way of fixing the corrupted files , using my Vista OS CD without having to do the clean install?
Thank you
Vu

First run a chkdsk /r. That will fix errors and attempt to recover data from bad sectors.
Then run sfc /scannow again.
If there are still issues, a repair install will fix the problems while not affecting your data or installed programs.

Hi Ua549!
I ran chkdsk /r, then sfc /scannow.
sfc /scannow said: Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.
