No older windows apps on a win8 tablet (ARM). In another article I read that MS tablets will not support Flash, just like Apple. Ummm....so what is the point of putting Windows on tablets again?:rolleyes:
If they are not going to make standard Windows applications capable of running on ARM chips, then there isn't much point in making Win 8 work on ARM either, in my opinion.
With license fees to MS, you can be sure that any decent win8 tablet will cost as much or more than an Apple....and bunches more than an Android one. Without legacy and Flash....there is no point in buying one.
Still waiting for my $99 WebOS Touchpad. :D

Windows 8 - the new Vista?
Don't have a clue what MS is doing. Every "statement" they make needs a translator...
On the upside, I likely will have no exposure to any flavor of Win8. It will be several years before I need to buy a new PC, Laptop or Netbook...and after I get my Touchpad, I will have no need for one of those either. Looks like I will be giving Win8 a complete bypass....just like I did with Vista. ;)

Most industry analysts are thinking that businesses will ginving WIn8 a pass also. Of course, Microsoft still has plenty of time to make changes or reverse course, but they seem unlikely at present to get their corprate GPS reparied in time to get Win8 right.
I still have two XP machines that do most everything I need them to do. After that, two win7 machines. Unless win8 does something extraordinary....like clean my house and fix my car....I simply don't need it.
In today's economic mess, I can 't see any company getting excited about upgrading to win8 anytime soon.
BTW....I still like XP better than windows 7. ;)

I think Microsoft is feeling a little left out at the party. It's all about tablets and smart phones these days and they want to be relevant in some way. Windows 8 and the metro version for mobiles gets them a seat at the table again. Oddly enough, they are being applauded by the tech blogosphere, which usualy hates everything MS does. Some even calling it the "iPad Killer"....but I doubt that.
Just my opinions....
BTW....I still have a win98 and a winME machine as well. They are sitting in the closet, but they are fully operational if I ever need to run some really old software or need to grab something off an old floppy. ;)
