I have an el cheapo Uniden cordless phone; keeps losing battery power even after being charged all day. Only lasts 30 minutes or so. Would the new Dect 6.0 phones help or would another cordless brand be better?

They vary a lot in how long they can go between charges, but I have a Panasonic DECT phone that is excellent - it can go for several days before it needs a charge. It really depends on what batteries the phone has, as well as how efficient the phone's electronics are. Personally I would only consider a phone with replaceable AAA or AA batteries these days, at least you only have to replace the batteries once they stop charging properly. The square Li-ion packs in some DECT phones cost more to replace than the phone did in the first place
Thanks. :D
Many times you don't know what you're getting in battery style until you actually purchase. I'll probably need to look in my Uniden to see what replacement batteries cost.
Further update was reading the doc came with the phone noted that the battery (even with good use) is expected to last no more than 1 year, and I've had this at least 5 years; Checked at Radio Shack and they have one for about usd10.00, so I think it's worth it to replace the battery. ;)
