Samsung vs. ViewSonic LED monitors contrast ratio
I am looking at 2 monitors:
1.) ViewSonic VA2248m-LED Black 22" Full HD LED BackLight LCD Monitor w/Speakers 250 cd/m2 DC 10,000,000:1 (1,000:1)
2.) Samsung BX2231 Glossy Black 21.5" 2ms Full HD LED Backlight LCD Monitor Slim Design 250 cd/m2 DCR 5,000,000:1 (1,000:1)
The Samsung has 2ms where the ViewSonic has 5ms but I’ve read the human eye really can’t see the difference. I seldom game but I will use it mostly for working on photos. I’ve also read ‘numerous’ times that the Samsung’s stand is very flimsy for their slim monitors and the monitors can wobble. For the last 4 years, I’ve been using a ViewSonic LCD HD monitor and the stand is great. Also, I don’t know if the Samsung stand even tilts. Both have excellent visual reviews and my Samsung LED-HDTV has a great picture.
My main question is difference in the contrast ratio where ViewSonic has the edge (I think). Will this difference be noticeable with photos, games, streaming video etc.?
Any feedback on the stands and contrast ratio would be appreciated. Other brand monitors are an option as well.
Thanks,
Mike
