Not if it's a Seagate drive, which it is. I wouldn't own anymore of those drives, as they tend to break easier than my WD drives.
And it is just the reverse for me. LOL
Well, I do have to say, I have an 80gb Seagate that I've had for 4 years that's been a good one, but I've had more that died or were dead straight away.
Yeh, those 80 GB of most makers were the pits.
We had 7 and only had a problem with 1.
I just pulled one from a computer that was dead. I know, all drive makers can and do have DOAs, but having more than three go dead over the past 5 years, is a bit too much. When Maxtor bought Quantum, they (Maxtor) started turning out bad drives, then along comes Seagate and they buy Maxtor, same scenario with their drives. Things went down hill after the buy out.
My 80gb Seagate is still running fine after 5 years usage. It was in my computer until I upgraded to a 200gb, then I used it as a data storage drive. Then I built my brother a computer, minus harddrive and he borrowed that drive as his main drive until he bought his new drive. Now it just sits on the shelf until I need it again.
I'm just hoping that Samsung and Hitachi drives retain their high quality, having been bought out by Seagate and WD respectively. I haven't bought any other brand of drive in the last 5 years.
