How can I connect my laptop, which is wirelessly connected to my desktop PC, to my LED HD TV? Or am I limited to some sort ofcable hook-up? Or is even possible to use a TV as a display?
Thanks,

If your laptop has a port for an external display, then you would need to use that. If it has an HDMI port then you should be good to go with the TV. If it only has a VGA port, then it is a bit more complicated. You are limited to cables on a basic set up, though if you want to spend lots of money, there are ways of hooking displays up wirelessly.
If your TV has a VGA input:

Be sure and read what's under the Details tab, as these types of hookups do have limitations.

The TV manual only shows an HDMI connector. My laptop has an HDMI connector too. I'm a little worried there may be some sort of fireworks if I run a cable between the two. Any possible problems if I do so?

Far from it, that is the easiest situation of all. You just need to plug the cable between the two. You may need to tell the laptop to use the HDMI output, you'll have to refer to the instructions on how to do that. And you may also need to go into the sound settings and choose HDMI as the output device. Then you should be good to go :)
And som TVs have a internal setting for when you use them as monitors. The manual for the tv will set you straight.
