When changing from xp to windows 7 I had to give up Outlook Express and change to Microsoft Outlook.
I do not like this program and I am looking for reccomendations for a good clean and simple to use email client.
Any offers appreciated

For free clients there's Thunderbird http://www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/thunderbird/ ... easily configurable and reliable. Only downside is lack of ability in backing up emails.
If you want to pay for one, which I did, The Bat, www.ritlabs.com is far superior to any client I've ever used... easy to set up, tons of features and backup/restore is a snap.
What version of Outlook have you been trying? Versions before 2003 stunk. 2003 on have been much better and the look and feel of it can be customized fairly easily.
Windows Live Mail is ok. It is the "official" Outlook Express replacement from MS. But it has a Microsoft Office family resemblance (ribbon bar across the top.) You may not care for it much.
Thunderbird is ok too. It was my fav for home until I finally went all cloud (gmail.)
Another possible consideration,
Verify email accounts are compatible with e-mail software.
e.g. Hotmail, Yahoo accounts may not play nice with Thunderbird.
Should not be an issue if using Thunderbird with your ISP email system.
