Registering Office 2003

The older Dell in my sig was given to me by a customer, along with all her discs. As it's been formatted and in the process of being redone, do I have to re-register the same Office 2003 again on that computer?

I've never had an Office that needed online reg, having used Office only up through 2000 before. Does the product key get associated with the mobo S/N?

Is it true that I can register it for 2 computers, the other one being this, my primary one? Or does it have to be a desktop and a laptop?

If the office is a retail version, it's my understanding that you can put it on any one PC. It is also my understanding that you can put a copy on a desktop and a laptop, is not true! It does happen but it's not legal.

I was talking about legal. I've seen it mentioned in a post at another site, no, not an illegal site, that MS unofficially allows you by phone to do 2 machines. Sorry, I can't find the site again. Do any of the gurus here know anything about that?

Not sure what you mean by retail. It was originally sold with the Dell, when Dell used to include all the disks with a new computer. I now own the Dell and the disks.

So I am not crazy. Portable means a laptop. Thanks. I don't suppose putting this computer on my lap makes it a laptop. :D
