Hi All, ........... When you right-click a file the drop-down context menu is supposed to contain Send To. It doesn't work that way for me. My menu contains: Open, Print, Copy, Pin to this list, etc., but no Send To. However, SendTo is located in Windows at: User, AppData, Roaming, Microsoft, Windows, SendTo and I have been able to add to its contents by dragging and dropping.
What must I do to get Send To as part of the context menu?

Jim, ............. Thank you for your prompt reply. I took the registry approach from null's response. The values on my system match exactly those given in null's reply. Although I don't have another Windows 7 to check, my present system uses a dual boot of WinXP and Win7. With WinXP I do have the Send To as part of the context menu and when I went into the XP registry, again the values matched.
Although I probably would not have used null's second offering, I tried to go to the dot zip address and received a screen telling me the site could not be found.
Hi All, ............... To add to my earlier Posts, I found at the Windows Seven Forums site information which offers a potential fix for the Send To problem. This involves downloading a registry file, Add_Send_To_Menu.reg. There is also a similar file, Remove_......_Menu.reg. I have each of these files on my desktop but hesitate to install either one without knowing what is in each file. Can anyone offer advice as to how to open (without installing) one of these files so that I can compare it to what is in the link from Jim's post and also what is in my registry?
Hi All, ............ OK you can ignore the previous Post since I was able to print out a Notepad copy of the registry info. There are some differences between what is in my Win7 registry and the downloaded files. Since I don't feel comfortable working in the registry, I'll present each portion of the registry which applies and maybe someone can provide further guidance.
My Win7 registry keys:

The differences between my registry files and those of the downloaded files show the addition of brackets, the @, quotes, and = signs.
Since I don't have the Send To now, what would happen if I used the d/l Remove file and more importantly how do I include the Remove and Add files to my registry?
shrdlu--I was writing this while you were already posting your Post #5. I suggest you read it and then tell us what you have accomplished. Don't worry about the @, = and quote data in the Add_Send_To_Menu.reg file

That Add_Send_To_Menu.reg file contains the following info

(The way you find out is to right click on the Add_Send_To_Menu.reg file, choose Edit and then Run.)
If you left click on Add_Send_To_Menu.reg, you will active the .reg file and should wind up where the earlier reference suggested with SendTo in the Win7 Context menu.
You are right to be careful in editing the registry. The way to guard against making an error is to first open the Registry Editor,in this case navigate to ContextMenuHandlers, highlight it and then click File|Export. You will create another .reg file containing the current data in ContextMenuHandlers. If you do not like the results of using Add_Send_To_Menu.reg, use the .reg file you created to return the Registry to the current data.
However, I am not clear what you have accomplished so far. Your Post #3 seems to imply that after following the instructions in http://social.answers.microsoft.com/...f-a25081da8831 you did not create the SendTo option in the Win7 Context Menu.
You certainly can try using Add_Send_To_Menu.reg but it may not fix things if the earlier suggestion did not. However you have nothing to lose. And you may not have gotten things completely correct when you followed http://social.answers.microsoft.com/...f-a25081da8831
shrdlu--I have now examined your post #5 more closely and see two errors. The first few numbers in the Data Value column should be 7BA4C740- .
And I think the [ and ] are needed.
So go ahead and use the Add_Send_To_Menu.reg file . I think it will make both changes for you. You should reboot after making the changes.
You use them only when you need to make the changes they make. So just keep them handy if you think you will need them in the future. To active a .reg file, you left click and then click Run or Yes to any message asking if you really want to modify Registry.Quote:

Jim, ................ Got it, finally. First let me acknowledge that the missing number four (4) shown in red in your previous post was my goof. It was there in my registry but in spite of checking and rechecking I neglected to see that it was missing in my post.
What I have done to get Sent To as part of the right-click context drop-down menu is to use the Remove_Send_To_Menu.reg to Modify (remove) my existing Value data series of digits and add the @"" in their place,then shut down and reboot. As expected, nothing changed, no Send To. Next I copied and pasted the series of digits back in the Value data location, still no Send To. Then I added the braces, { }, on either end of the Value data digits and that did it. Send To is now part of the context menu after right-clicking a folder or file.
