There is a Benq laptop and an MSI netbook connecting to the same wireless router. (limited to 512 kbps) in an apartment building i the same room side by side. Router name and model is unknown.
The benq has 5 bars and reasonable internet speed.
The MSI has week signal 1 or 2 bars and very slow internet.
Both use win 7 premium and both have 2 gig of ram.
A perfect example of the difference that a decent aerial (antenna) can make! If you are unable to change the position of either the router or netbook in order to get a better signal, about all you can do is to use a WiFi dongle with a better aerial. If you need to get one, try and get one with a SMA connector, then you can attach a high-gain aerial to it if necessary.
Does separating them by several feet change anything? They may be interfering with each other.Quote:

It could be that ...After the product hit the market, a slew of people start complaining about a particular problem.If so, wouldn't it be cheaper, (more 'planet friendly'), to simply download and apply this fix than it would be to send the device back to the manufacturer so they can apply this same fix and then return the device back to you?
The manufacturer hired some engineers. The engineers designed a fix. The manufacturer posted the fix on the web.
