hmmm--The word "show" does not tell me what the problem is. Do you mean that folders with the names you mention are now in your Favorites folder?
If that is not the problem, can you rephrase? Give us a few examples what items are in these folders. This may give you (and us) some idea where the folders are coming from.
Sorry for phrasing incorrectly Jim.
When I click on the Favorites button (top left hand side of IE8) below folders are appearing.
Desk Top
Favorites
My Documents
Start Menu
Tracing
Favorites Bar
I have to click on Favorites again to expand it. I never used to have these extra folders appearing next to the Favorites folder before.
Thank you
hmmm--Having Favorites Bar and Favorites folders in the dropdown list of Favorites could be quite normal. They are put there by Microsoft by default. The naming is unfortunate. You would have to expand (open) these folders to see what they contain. It would not be normal to have the other folders in Favorites. Expand one or more of them to see what they contain. Do they duplicate the contents of similarly named folders in the default locations? (For example do the contents of the Desktop folder indicate duplicates of the items on your desktop? And do you have a Desktop folder in its default location?)
If the answers to all questions are "Yes", I would think you could delete any folder which duplicates contents of a folder which is in its default location.
How did this happen? One possibility is that you have added a Favorites folder from another location (say, a backup location) to this Favorites folder showing the duplicates. This would be common after a formatting of the drive and re-setting up of all the folders as they were.
This bothers me and makes me think I do not understand the problem. Everything I have written is based on the understanding that you see duplicate folders within the Favorites list. The quoted comment makes me feel that words like "Desktop" and "Documents" appear next to the word Favorite at the top of the left panel. A screenshot might clear things up.Quote:

Absolutely...screen shot...good idea.
Desk Top
My Documents
Start Menu.....are in their original locations too.....
I am not able to delete them from "Favorites" location. It says that "they are system folders".
I have also attached part of system folders screen shot.
Thank you AGAIN.
hmmm--Your screenshot confirms that I understood the situation correctly in the first place. If the content of the My Documents folder shown is the same as your default My Documents folder, you should be able to delete that folder from Favorites.
Of course you do not want to do that if you do not have a functional My Documents folder in the default location. The message that they are system folders suggests that Windows thinks the folders in Favorites are the default folders. So you should check that.
Once you do that, third party programs to remove problem folders are

Hi Jim,
Before I "Delete" anything I decided to compare the "Favorites" location in the "Registry" in another XP machine. And I realized that mine was slightly different then the other XP machine. I backed up the registry, just in case, and edited identical to the other machine. Problem solved.....As I said before I have no idea how it happened in the first place...anyway, my sincere apologies to you for taking your time.
Regards
hmmm--Glad to hear the good news!
