I have a dual processor. I pressed F8 and it brought up a list of drives. I have a dual processor and 2 hds. I highlighted the first hd and hit enter. It booted up normally not in safe mode. How do I get it in safe mode. I went though the microsoft site. It said to highlight the installation you need and hit enter. I did but it didn't boot in safe mode.
Do you have dual processor or do you mean you are dual booting for two different Operating Systems?

When I restart and hit F8 the window lists all the different drives I have. At least that is what it apprears to be. I can reboot and write down what is says if you want me to.
This is what my screens says when I reboot and hit F8

You have to completely power down the computer, wait a few seconds, push the power-on button and then start tapping the [F8] function key. You should then, eventually, get the 'Safe Mode Options Menu' screen seen above.

It did the same thing!! The first screen at the bottom says is my Amd processor logo

You press F8 about a few seconds after the above message.
I agree, you're hitting F8 a bit too early. Start hitting it about the time you see the line about booting from CDROM.
Pressing F8 at the appropriate time during boot is the best method but if all else fails, you can run Boot Safe http://www.superadblocker.com/bootsafe.html The instructions are on the page.
Just a FYI, my Asus motherboard does the same thing if I tap F8 just after P.O.S.T. I have to wait a few seconds to get past that or hit Esc, then F8.
