[RESOLVED] How to send Pics from email to Altell cell phone?
I have researched this for the last 2 days and can't find the answer anywhere on the Internet. I send text messages and photos to family member's cell phones using my Windows Mail email account, so I know it can be done. My problem is that I have a sister in-law in Texas that has an Altell account with her cell phone and for the life of me I can't find out how to send a photo to her cell. She does not have a computer or the Internet or I would just email pics to her. Everyone in my family has either ATT&T or Verizon except for her. I know there is a difference in the cell phone address from when you want to send plain text versus from when you want to send a photo. For example when I want to send my granddaughter a plain text message, I send it [email protected], but when I want to send her a photo, I send it [email protected]. So I know I can not send my sister in-law a photo using her plain cell address. Since Altell merged with Verizon, I wonder if I could send pics using Verizon's MMS address (vzwpix.com).
Does anyone know if Altell allows pics to be sent to their customer's cell phones? If so, what address do you use to send them with?
It will be a while before I can get back here to read everyone's answer because we are about to have another thunder storm here (happens almost daily now).
Thanks,
Got the Answer & It Works!
Everyone interested in this problem:
I just received an email from Alltel and they told me what to do. I tried it and it worked! :D I had tried this before, but did not do one other step. This is what they said:
Quote:
You can send that picture via email to (10digitmobiel number)@mms.alltel.net and attach a file to send to other Alltel customers as an MMS. Files may be no larger than 1MB and must be one of the following file types: .gif, .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .midi, .mid, .mpeg, .x-mpg, .mp3, .txt, .3gpp, .3g2, .mp4
I had tried different type addresses to send a photo to my sister in-law, including the one they have listed--mms.alltel.net The only thing I did not think to try was to attach the photo instead of inserting it into the email body itself. With other cell providers I have always just inserted the photo into the body--but that does not work with Alltel.
Hope this helps someone else if they are having this same problem. :)
