How Do I Stop Rollovers?

I hate those irritating things. How can I stop them?

I give up. I ditched Internet Explorer and followed foxy's advice. I don't really care for Firefox, but just plain hate those "Rollovers"

To stop most rollovers, click the little question mark (?) and find the link to disable it on the "about" page. It should last for that session at least.

Maybe I called it wrong. I'm talking about the text that is a different color (Green on my computer) that when I hit it with my cursor it opens up a balloon with some BS about whatever the word I hit was. There don't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the words. Some are clearly business names, others are simple words. Always a PITA.

I just went to look for an example. Is this Vibrant Advertising? I clicked on the ? and found an option to Disable.

BipolarBill I think you may have helped find the source, but looks like it will be pretty hard to stop it all together. At least with IE. So far Firefox don't have the same issue.

Vibrant is only one of at least three "pushers" of this annoyance. It is the best at staying out of your face when you tell it to. Kontera is the worst and seems to turn off "per page".

When you select "disable", a cookie is set for that particular browser. If you disable cookies or manage cookies in an aggressive way, this won't work for you.

I got rid of this nuissance by adding kontera.com and intellitxt.com to the restricted sites.

In IExplorer > Tools > Internet Options > Security tab
click the Restricted globe and add these sites like this:
*.intellitxt.com
*.kontera.com

I've set the restricted sites as restricted as possible.

I see I forgot *.vibrantmedia.com
This one has to be in the restricted sites as well.

Restricted sites are by default not allowed to execute scripts.

I use the managed HOSTS file from mvps.org. It handles this issue and many more. Makes surfing a joy because this garbage is cutoff...

Just added *.vibrantmedia.com to the others. Maybe I'll be able to go back to IE. Just not getting used to FF.
