Windows 7 64Bit, IE8, Intel 2.53GHz, 4GB Ram.
It all started when IE8 32 Bit quit working. I tried reinstall but only three files loaded into 32Bit folder . However, IE8 64 Bit works; but I cannot Export Favorites. When I get to the screen for Default location or BROWSE option, neither one is available.
Any thoughts?
Do you actully have favorites to be exported? (sorry - have to ask since it sounds like you have a fresh install)
You can do it the old fashion way. Favorites are just shortcut files that are found:
C:\Users\Your User Name (then you'll have to look around a bit since my memory is failing)
I'm confused as the favorutes to export are different than those stored. Anyway, the whole problem started when IE8 32 bit stopped working on my system (Windows 7). The 64 Bit IE8 opens, but not 32 Bit. Also, I,port Export in 64 bit does not work; again must be re;lated to 32Bit IE8 quit working. I would use only IE8 64 Bit but that has its shortcomings also; that is, there is no Adobe Flash available for Windows 7. Also, since the IE* 32 Bit failure, some Hyperlinks do not work, those which point to opening a Web site.
Hyperlinks which open email do work... all when 32Bit IE8 stopped working on this Win7 machine. I did a repair (upgrade) of Windows 7 again but that did not fix the 32Bit IE8 not working. Also, I ran SFC /SCAN now which came back and said there were errors that 'could not' be fixed. Lord only knows I really do not want to erase all hard drive contents and start all over again; but that's my next action if no one is capable of assisting me to fix...
1. IE8 32 Bit Installation oin Windows 7 64x (it was there just a couple weeks ago).
2. Correct problems detected and not fixed when SFC /SCANNOW is run.
