[RESOLVED] Dual Keyboards & Mice

I have a W7 system with a Logitech G11 USB keyboard and a Logitech MX500 USB mouse. I would like to install an old Microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse combination to use when I am not sitting near the computer. Before I potentially FUBAR my system by installing the Microsoft software / KB / Mouse along side the Logitech software / KB / mouse, I would like to get the general opinion from others. Can dual keyboards and mice be installed without conflict and the system will respond to input from either?

In theory it'll work..provided you aren't too far away. When in doubt - only use the wireless combo;)

It's certainly possible to have dual keyboards and mice. I wouldn't like to install separate drivers though, so the secondary kb and mouse, will have to make do with the basic functionality provided by the existing drivers.

Thanks Steve and SuperSparks. Theory always seems simple until you get run over by reality. :eek: I will try without drivers and if the wireless doesn't work try with drivers.

I will back up the system partition, try it and report back on reality. :)

I realized I never responded back to this thread. However, I wanted to confirm that SuperSparks was right. I was able to have wired and wireless both conneccted and recognized at the same time. Windows 7 recognized and installed both without the need to install separate drivers.
