Administrator Problem
Back again with another problem.
All of a sudden a new search bar has appeared on my web browser named Bing.
I searched the net and apparently a lot of people have had this problem and there are various way's to cure it.
Tried quite a few with no success, the latest one involves adding two extra line of text to Hosts in the Windows/System 32 file, then saving it using Notepad.
First I made a backup of Hosts.
Then when I try this and get to the Save part I receive this message:
You dont have permission to save in this location.
Contact the Administrator to obtain it.
I have had this message before and I am the Administator (I think)
I am the only person using the computer, which is the main computer on a network of two computer's.
When I go into the control panel>User Accounts my name is displayed underneath of which is the words Aministrator Password protected.
I would appreciate help on solving this Administrator problem.
Thanks

Check out www.msn.com
As you'll see BING is the name of Microsoft's search engine. Does your look different?

Did you install any of the Windows Live applications? If so, Bing was probably part of one of those. (FWIW, I uninstalled all Windows Live apps that came with my netbook. Huge, bloated beaties!)

Mine is the same as the msn one.

To modify your Hosts file, find Notepad in the Start mnu, right-click on it, and select "Run as administrator". Then navigate to Hosts (C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc), make your changes, and go to File>Save.
Can you not just right-click the bar in IE and uncheck the Bing bar though? It would be easier.
