[RESOLVED] confused - not sure if I got a virus??

Not sure where to start? I notice now all my programs that I open and have the commands of: minimize, restore down, and close on the upper right conner now have two extra commands - a "move left" and a "move right" in the form of almost like an arrow.

In my Word 2007 program when I run my cursor over the: minimize, restore down, or close - they seem to disapear. After I pull my cursor away they show back up.

Any ideas anyone? Is this a virus or a command I hit on accident?

Yes - that is what i thought but i looked around in add and remove programs and do not see anything. The only thing I notice that i don't think was there before is the "dogpile" search box in explorer which I think showed up when my daughter installed firefox. Not sure how to remove it though?

Go to view, toolbar and disable the toolbar.

Thanks for the replies - I found out that it was a split screen software program I had running. I would not allow word 2007 to work very well. Alll fixed now that I disabled it!

Step 3 : Use Windows Command Prompt to Unregister DogPile DLL Files
Search and unregister "DogPile" DLL files:

Step 4 : Detect and Delete Other DogPile Files
Remove the "DogPile" processes files:

Step 5 : View the DogPile Components with its MD5s
Remove the "DogPile" components:

Sounds like you know what you are doing, but I don't.... where do I find this? Am I supposed to type it into the internet search bar? Go to search from the control panel? I know very little about computers (think first grader in comparison to your college degree)

Task Manager - press Control+Alt+Delete and select Task Manager, OR, click Start, Run, and enter "taskmgr.exe"

Registry Editor - click Start, Run, enter "regedit.exe"
