[RESOLVED] Frontpage 2003 message

I was going to post this in the Software section but it's Win 7 related because I don't get the error on my other PC using Win XP Ver 2002 SP3.
I was trying to edit my web page, just adding a photo and then just tried changing a word and it won't save it.

I'm using Microsoft Frontpage 2003 ver 11.5516.5606 and there are currently no updates.

I get message:

Server Error: The server extensions were unable to access the file “…\_vti_pvt\service.lck”.

Please check the file permissions.

Contact your Internet service provider or Web server administrator for more information.

This is a FrontPage issue not Windows 7. This may happen if the Service.lck file has got damaged. To rectify this, you have a choice of three options:

1. Locate the Service.lck file with Windows Explorer and delete it. Close down Front Page, then try again. Sometimes this will not work, depending on why that file got damaged in the first place. If it does not work, then you have the following two options:
2. Create your new Web in a different folder. If you are trying to create it in the My Webs folder ... make a new folder outside of the My Webs folder, perhaps call it My Webs2 ... then create your new Web in that.
3. Totally delete the contents of the My Webs folder before creating a new Web.

I read 2 and 3 before I posted. As I mentioned, I don't receive the error on my Tower PC but I do on my Laptop with Win7 when I connect my portable HD to my laptop which has my webpages on it.

Don't know why loading FP 2003 on a Win 7 system would change the write rights. It doesn't in XP.

I did a right click properties on the directory where my web pages are then selected security and Admin had all checked (read write etc) but user Mark did not. I changed it and now I can save changes.
