Wirless connection on new computer

I have just purchased a new compter running Windows 7 and I setup a wireless connection, during setup I had to connect my modem cable lead from the computer to the Belkin router.
No that the wireless connection is o/k and running should I disconnect the moden cable lead?

This is just me, but I always leave a base computer connected by wire if I can.

Burt once the wireless is set up, the wire can be disconnected.

Generally speaking , yes wired is faster.

If you need to do a big download, plug the cable in. For general surfing wireless is quite fast enough.
