Avira says Superantispyware.exe is a trojan
I'm running XP with service pack 3 and Avira as my anti-virus software. I also have SuperAntiSpyWare paid version running in real time on the PC. This morning an Avira window popped up saying:
Virus or unwanted program 'TR/Fakealert.BZ [trojan]'
detected in file 'C:\Program Files\SUPERAntiSpyware\SUPERANTISPYWARE.EXE.'
I clicked on 'ignore' several times but the message kept coming back, so I ran a Malwarebytes quick scan and it found nothing. Then I went back to the Avira pop-up, clicked on 'ignore' and put a check mark in the box to make it remember my choice to ignore. By the way, while running Malwarebytes, when the Avira message window popped up it would stop Malwarebytes but when I clicked on ignore Malwarebytes would continue to run.
Is there something in the new Avira dat file that makes it think SuperAntiSpyware is a trojan?
