When I click on my Internet explorer icon my screen opens maximized but if I click on any links the new window pops up 3/4 screen. Is there a setting to make it open maximized? I know in XP I would stretch the screen out and then hold down shift and exit the screen, the next time I opened it it would remember the setting.

Steve, that isn't working for me.
If the link opens in a new tab but same window it will also be stretched out to the whole screen but if it opens in a new window it will only be 3/4 screen.
Drag to full size , go to file and select Exit.
I don't see a file tab in the browser.
Hit the Alt key and the menu will show up.

By the way, the ALT key trick works in lots of places besides IE.

I still can't get the window to open full screen, even with the File then exit.
Next trick.
* Resize (with only one window open) and then close by clicking the X in the upper right corner while holding down the Shift key. Often this works but it may not.
* If the above does not work, your next step is to try the two-window method.
1. Open a single IE window (which is presumably still too small)
2. Now open a secondary IE window by either right-clicking or shift-clicking
on any convenient link in the open IE window
3. Resize this second window to the desired dimensions
4. Close this resized window by clicking the X in the upper right corner while holding down the Shift key
5. Resize the still open original window as desired
6. Close this window by clicking the X in the upper right corner while holding down the Shift key
Nope still didn't work.
Stumped for sure here.
Hope someone comes up with the answer.
But one last shot from me.
R-click the IE shortcut and select Properties.
In the lower section, the run line , use the drop down and change it to maximized.

I already added the Maximize to the internet explorer shrtcut and that works perfectly. The problem is when I open a site from my fav folder or if I open a link and it opens in its own window then it is 3/4 screen again. If I have a site open and I open another as long as it stays on the same window in a new tab it will also stay opened maximized. I hope that makes sense.
