Just checking updating a version of Firefox
According to Kaspersky Labs, there is a java vulnerability in the browser I am having a blast with.....Firefox 3.0.11.
:p
It appears here on virus list:
http://www.viruslist.com/en/advisories/35914
It appears here on secunia (one great security site):
http://secunia.com/advisories/35914/
Since I am kinda new to Firefox....just checking before I pull the trigger.
If I am going from version 3.0.11 to 3.0.12, is this just an add-on, or do I need to un-install the previous version 1st, please?
Proper instructions I found are here:
http://www.techsupportalert.com/firefox_install.htm
So....just checking with my friends here as well as the resident experts.
It is VERY difficult to browse without java enabled, and I have got to get RID of IE version 8, that I detest.
Yep...I searched 1st and only found going to an entire new version which is 3.5.
I'm pleased with what I've got and will go to 3.5 later.
Thanks for any suggestions on updating my default browser.

[Resolved] Overwhelming !! Thanks gentlemen
Good Grief!
Now, I'm *really* grateful that the guy who did the BIOS on my i7 desktop put the programs he prefers as default.
Back to my roots again.
In 1997 I knew even less than spit about the net, and learned at public libraries (between jobs) who used Netscape.
The Business World distorted me. "It's a Microsoft World so get over it.".....my A**.
OK guys and I apologize if any of you are the fairer sex, or otherwise.
:)
I'm going to go with what I've got for now, and update it to 3.12 immediately.
Maybe 3.5 is a few weeks down the road.
I don't even have my dig. camera and favorite games put back on this .....yet.
I can't understate the usefulness that was heaped on me, on this thread.
I'll close this and make room for more urgent problems.
Maybe another person can use it in Mozilla Firefox Searches here.
Once again: Thanks A Bunch!
