DVD Ram Drive

Having a problem with my DVD ram drive .

It is a Atapi dvd a dh16a1p dvd/cd-r . it shows up in my computer but it won't recognize any disk i put in .

Just hangs .

Changed nothing . I don't even hear the drive spinning . Used it yesterday , no problems .

Test the power lead that goes to DVD. If it's good, I would suspect a dead drive.
