Aeternum vale UPS

I was using the computer during a thunderstorm so I wasn't surprised when the power failed and the Civil Defense siren sounded... except... I have a UPS and the sound was coming from under my desk.

The UPS noisily committed suicide. It was five years old and cheap so I got my moneys worth. Hardware is not my strong suit (In my day men in white coats nursed the beast and users weren't allowed in the computer room). Any suggestions on a replacement?

5 years is a long time to have a UPS. I'm surprised it didn't tell you to replace the batteries.
