[RESOLVED] Computer problem

I don't know how to make the title, but I'll explain my problem, if you need laptop info I will provide.

What happened was. about a few months ago I installed Vista OS X, like the anxious person I am, I didn't have the patience to do full research on it. I then download all the stuff needed and install, etc etc, and of course the anxious side of me RUSHED threw it, I made a mistake during the installing that I figured out right after I made the mistake. I was dumbfounded, what ever that means, and I started to fiddle with everything, a very few days in with it installed, something I did makes everything go terribly WRONG. My computer was running like a snail, literaly, except for the internet. W00t.

Anyways, I got everything off doing it by going to run >cmd, sfc/scannow.. that went, and restored my computer back to default, but it mentioned there was still errors. Oh boy I'm not retarted, I know deleting program folders and going to the computer this way to uninstall something like this won't fix everything.

But my real problem is, now, my computer is working almost fine. I'm noticing while running photoshop, my computer is slower than it use to be before I went OS X, in general it just runs harder and sometimes comes up with a little lag, and a runtime error here and there, witch is a registry problem I think. I'm worried as to if I damaged anything with my OS during all this. I have no viruses, my computer is well defragged, cleaned out with junk, and I went high performance and took out the vista look, and did everything to make a vista computer run at the most TOP performance you can make it.

idk if I explained enough to get a reasonable answer as it's late and I hurried to type this and hope for a reply in the morning.

Also I want to back my computer up, but I want all problems fixed with my computer before I do. So if something happens I won't back it up with a problem that could re occur. If that makes sense? Ok I won't go on.

OS X is Mac, Vista is Windows. What laptop do you have?

No like there's something called vista os x, where you get a mac look..

So you're saying it made a restore point before I downloaded it?

I checked and don't see one that goes back before I did the installation.

Yes, it does create a restore point that is something you should have done as well, prior to installing anything new on your computer. Since you can't now do that, there is a way to uninstall that program according to that website:

hmm well this happened a good 2 months ago, and at that time I remember following some uninstall instructions in the folder, and it led me to, of coruse the sfc/scannow , witch fixed everything,

but what I did was delete the whole os x folder after the sfc, did the scan again and it had problems it couldn't fix. but everything was back to normal.

You could try a chkdsk /r or chkdsk /f to see of that might fix your problems.

Go to cmd prompt, type in chkdsk /r and it will ask if you want to run that upon restart. type y for yes, then exit to exit cmd prompt, then restart your computer.

and here's the results, I didn't get the very end because I was looking out my window, and all of a sudden, it goes black and my computer starts lol

and the rest isn't useful, anything in there to tell if somethings wrong?

On chkdsk /r it is supposed to run 5 checks, not three. Are you sure you did this from the cmd prompt and not the check disk utility under drive properties.

All tests completed or verified, but what do you remember about the first chkdsk you did that said there was files it couldn't fix?

Is the Vista OS a recovery dvd or a standalone DVD?

Not the chkdsk, but the sfc/scan now said I had problems. I'll run another one and take a screen shot and show you?

And sorry I'm still learning about computers, what you mean by recovery and stand alone dvd?

That's because sfc /scannow is not run from the cmd prompt. Do this: Go to Start>Run and then type in sfc /scannow. Make sure there is a space between the c and the slash mark /.

You need to have your vista dvd in the cd/dvd drive before you tap the enter key, or click ok.

I asked about the standalone (meaning a vista dvd you bought, not one of those recovery disks that come with laptops.)
