Lost software Intel NIC card, where can I download this please?
The 1st tier support at my ISP (I was down for 3) days last week) has gotten my cabling and connections terminally messed up.
My old socket 478 desktop I have installed is (pretty sure) an Intel NIC card that is described in control panel & copied from properties as:
Intel(R) PRO/1000 CT Network Conn
I think I found the box and it looks like this one at newegg:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16833106121
I can't find the CD that came with it and I don't prefer the Realtek RTL8139 Family PCI Fast Et (copied from control panel, once again).
I can't afford to be purchasing anything that is just missing a CD.
My question, please?
Does anyone know the correct place to download the software that came with this?
I've surfed all over Intel's site until...I surrender.
The last thing I need is to install incorrect software....because quite frankly I don't understand most of the terminology. :o
All the pertinent info I can think of to add:
Windows XP Home w/SP-3 on an Intel D865PBZ mobo with an Intel 3.2gHZ CPU.
Thanks for any replies/help.

(If you're using ATT/Yahoo as your DSL provider....GO TO ANYONE BUT THOSE incompetent *())*^%$$##s):mad:
Thanks Fellow Dr's...getting close
Thanks for the fast replies! :)
It's an add-on that goes in a PCI slot JDC and I think SpywareDr hit it right on the center of the target.
That realtek probably is an onboard connection/whatever of some type.
I just feel that the Intel Realtek RTL8139 makes my connection sloooooower than the Intel version.
Probably just a matter of perception.
(or delusion)
One more time & we're probably done.
SpywareDoc:
At the link you posted, that's IT....!
Now I've got choices, so just for verification (please?) is..
Quote:
Network Adapter Drivers for Windows* 2000, Windows* XP, and Windows Server* 2003
the one?
(vs)
one of several in Utilities, Tools and Examples?
My ISP has gotten terrified at this point,
to do most anything on a 'puter.
If I had to guess, I'd pick the one in quotes (above).
Right or wromggg, please?
Surewest is the first order of business on Monday.
They just finished laying fiber all over my neighborhood.
ATT/Yahoo DSL got me --> 26 hours on the phone, two tecknishun visits, and...The Grand Prize!!!!, I logged this: 52 times that someone said:
