Remove Outlook (not Express) from XP

I built a PC for my father-in-law last year with XP Hom SP3 and installed MS Office XP.
He doesn't use Outlook (he uses online Hotmail) and I'd like to remove Outlook. I searched last night and cannot find anywhere to remove Outlook (keeping Word & Excel). If it's not possible, how can I remove the Icon from the desktop?

MPTech--It looks like you installed Office XP in one chunk. Have you looked into Control Panel|Add/Remove programs? If you see only Office XP, then you will have to uninstall everything, though perhaps the uninstall will permit uninstalling one part.
If not, you could uninstall all of Office XP and then reinstall the individual parts. However that might wipe personal data.

You cannot just right click and choose Delete or drag and drop that icon into Recycle Bin?

I checked the Add / Remove Programs and it just appears as MS Office, so I imagine I'd have to remove and selective reinstall it.

I was able to delete the Icon from the desktop (DOH! I though I tried that before and it was locked for some reason, but my mistake)

Always do a custom istall, as most folks do not need a couple other items either.

MPTech--If all you really want to do is remove the shortcut, right click on it and then Delete. You may eventually want to use Outlook again, so why uninstall it?.

To remove Outlook, in "Add and Remove Programs", click your "Microsoft Office XP ..." then click "Change". Select "Add or Remove Features" and click "Next". Deselect (uncheck) "Outlook" and click "Update".
