McAfee AV + SiteAdvisor
I installed the free McAfee and it loaded SiteAdvisor
I don't care if SiteAdvisor runs but is there any way to stop
it from loading the toolbar? I've tried un checking it and locking the
toolbar but each time I open a new window it's back.
I just hate all the toolbars that they try to install (all of them)
If we let them install all they think we need. We wouldn't even have
a window to see anything :)
Any Ideas?
Thanks
Rod

Uninstall site advisor.
That program in this latest version, has just allowed McAfee programs to hit the garbage qualification for all but one program they have.
Avira and Avast are both better AV programs and they are free.

Aside from McAfee being really poor security program, I'm not aware of any free McAfee program. Trial?

Nah, it is provided by the ISPs like AT&T, etc.
Comcast has it also, if I remember right. Yeah, they do. http://security.comcast.net/?cid=NET_33_0
The silly paragraph they have.
The all-new McAfee® Security Suite gives you a whole series of tools to help keep you, your family and your home computers safe, protected and virus-free. It's an all-in-one, comprehensive, easy-to-install solution-and a $120 value, included FREE with your Comcast High-Speed Internet subscription. No strings attached.
I guess they figure it is better than nothing. Although should they contact , let us say Avira, they probably get a better deal.

Oh, yeah, I forgot about ISPs.
